Privacy Policy

This site (allbyte.studio) is operated by AllByte Studios, a solo independent game developer (referred to here as “I,” “me,” or “AllByte”). This policy explains what information I collect when you visit the site, log in, or play The Chronicles of Nesis, and how I handle it. I keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the site.

Information I collect

• Account information (via Patreon). Logging in is handled entirely through Patreon. When you authorize the connection, I receive your Patreon user ID, your name, your email address, and your current membership tier. I store these to identify your account and to unlock the content your tier grants.
• Cloud save data. If you choose to sync your game progress, the save data you upload is stored so it can be restored on your other devices. Saves are only synced when you opt in.
• Technical data. Like any website, my hosting and content-delivery layer (Amazon Web Services / CloudFront) records standard request logs — IP address, browser type, and the pages requested — used for security and to keep the site running.
• Browser storage. I store a login token and a few interface preferences (such as music-player state) in your browser's local/session storage. These stay on your device.
• Anonymous gameplay analytics. When you play in the browser, I record anonymous, aggregate progress signals — a random session identifier (kept only for the current tab, not a tracking cookie), which scenes you reach, how long you played, and the referring site’s domain (for example “reddit.com”). This is not linked to your account or identity; I use it only to understand where players drop off so I can improve the game.

How I use it

• To authenticate you and keep you signed in.
• To grant the site and game features your membership tier includes.
• To sync and restore your game saves when you opt in.
• To understand, in aggregate, how far players get in the browser game so I can improve it.
• To operate, secure, and troubleshoot the site.

I do not sell your personal information, and I do not use it for third-party advertising.

Payments

All memberships and payments are processed entirely by Patreon. I never receive, see, or store your card number or any other payment details. Patreon's handling of that data is governed by Patreon's own privacy policy.

Service providers

• Patreon — account login, membership, and payment processing.
• Amazon Web Services — website hosting, storage, and the backend that powers login and cloud saves.

These providers process data only to deliver their part of the service.

Data retention

I keep your account information for as long as your account exists. Cloud saves are retained until you overwrite or delete them, or until your account is removed. Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and operational purposes.

Your choices

• You can revoke this site's access to your Patreon account at any time from your Patreon account settings.
• You can request access to, or deletion of, the personal information tied to your account by emailing me (see below).

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Security

Login tokens are signed and transmitted over HTTPS, and passwords are not stored on my systems (login is delegated to Patreon). No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Changes

I may update this policy as the site evolves. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version.
